Prof. Dr. Andrea Kühn was awarded the Dingebauer Prize of the German Society of Neurology on September 21, 2017 for her research on Parkinson’s disease. Her work has made a significant contribution to advances in deep brain stimulation. Through the characterization of pathological network activity and the possibility of influencing it, she has laid the foundation for significantly improving deep brain stimulation in the future.

Andrea Kühn conducts research in the outpatient Clinic for Neurology on the Charité Campus Mitte and is on the board of directors of the Cluster of Excellence NeuroCure. She is head of the Movement Disorders Department at the Charité Campus Mitte and the Campus Virchow-Klinikum.

The Dingebauer Prize is awarded every two years for outstanding scientific achievements in the investigation of Parkinson's disease and other degenerative disorders of the nervous system. In this case it is endowed with 5,000 Eeros. The prize is awarded by the Dr. Friedrich-Wilhelm and Dr. Isolde Dingebauer Foundation.
