The ECN is dedicated to supporting you in your career development by providing training, resources and networking opportunities. Our goal is to empower you to succeed in academia or beyond, pursuing a career that aligns with your individual strengths and aspirations.
We want to encourage you to start thinking about and preparing your career options early on. To support this, we have developed an Individual Development Plan, which is available on the Berlin Neuroscience Network. It is designed to help you assess your interests, skills, goals and values and create a plan to further develop them towards your future career.
You are welcome to discuss your own Individual Development Plan and any related questions you may have with the ECN Career Development Officer.
To help you assess different career options, we are regularly organizing online Career Lunch Talks featuring Berlin neuroscience alumni. The format is a low-threshold opportunity to gain firsthand knowledge from professionals in a variety of fields, and ask questions. The Career Lunch Talks are hosted on the Berlin Neuroscience Network, where we also provide many career-related resources, including Job Profiles that we create based on questionnaires send out to Berlin neuroscience alumni working in different sectors. These two-page profiles give a first impression of what tasks and responsibilities come with certain jobs and what skills are necessary to succeed in them.
